AMA and Fireside Chat with Kyle Cobb, Cofounder, Advanced.Farm

Kyle Cobb, cofounder, president and CFO of Advanced.Farm, will share his story and respond to questions in an "AMA" (ask me anything) format. Advanced.Farm builds robots for the next frontier in farming and is based in Davis, CA. Aaron Anderson, principle at Impact Venture Capital, whose portfolio includes Advanced.Farm, will interview Kyle in a Fireside Chat and then we'll open it up to questions from the audience. Attendees will gain valuable insights from Kyle that they can apply to their own startup journey. Light refreshments will be provided. This event is hosted by the Sacramento Entrepreneurial Growth Alliance whose members include StartupSac, the Growth Factory, the Carlsen Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Sac State, and CleanStart.

OR Research Expo & Seed Central: Encounters with UC Davis Science and Scientists

The annual UC Davis Research Expo showcases the latest research-related tools, resources and insights to help you advance your research programs and careers. The event will start at 11:30am at the Mondavi Center and includes exhibits, presentations and workshops. We welcome you to enjoy the full event or attend portions that are of particular interest.

Who should attend: Faculty, post-docs, staff, research administrators, students and industry partners involved in research.

And new this year, we will be partnering with Seed Central to offer an extended afternoon session at the Conference Center starting at 3:30 pm that will be devoted to ag innovation, where we will bring experts from various specialties together with industry partners. This special Seed Central event will feature a workshop on “Agri-innovation commercialization”, a science and technology showcase featuring UC Davis science and technology, featured speakers and a networking social with a student & postdoc research poster session.

Innovators Showcase

2-hour pitch session with 40 startups and innovative companies in ag and food, from seed to health, followed by a 2-hour networking exhibit session.

Little Bang! Poster Competition

Hosted by the Mike and Renee Child Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Gallagher Hall

The Little Bang! is designed to help students – from high school to Ph.D. – define their business idea and communicate it concisely using a poster and verbal pitch. Join us to view posters, listen to students pitch, and network with fellow innovators. Awards are presented as part of the Big Bang! Final Presentations and Awards. 

Who should attend: Open to the general public. Ideally includes industry experts, financial supporters, and representatives from all UCD colleges and professional schools.
